Bernal Wellness Center was born from a calling that had been on my heart for years. After more than two decades in healthcare, I realized that the greatest impact I could make was helping people change the course of their health and, ultimately, their lives. I founded Bernal Wellness Center to create a practice where every patient feels valued, respected, and truly heard.
Our mission, “A Changed Life, Changing Lives” reflects what I believe every day: when one person’s health improves, the positive impact extends to their family, their workplace, and our entire community.

Telisha Bernal FNP-C
Founder & Primary Care Provider
Telisha Bernal, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is the founder of Bernal Wellness Center and has over 20 years of healthcare experience, with a background in emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice, and urgent care. As a Corpus Christi native, runner, and triathlete, she is passionate about helping patients improve their health and believes that a changed life can truly change lives.
Lupe Trujillo LVN
Licensed Vocational Nurse
Lupe Trujillo, LVN brings more than 40 years of nursing experience to Bernal Wellness Center and is often the first friendly face you’ll see when you arrive. Lupe is dedicated to making every patient feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.

Practice Manager
Rudy Bernal, Practice Manager is the backbone of Bernal Wellness Center, ensuring the clinic operates smoothly each day. He oversees the day-to-day operations, manages administrative processes, coordinates patient services, supports staff, and works behind the scenes to create an efficient, welcoming experience for every patient.

Do I have to be an established patient to be seen for urgent care?
No. You can come in for a sick visit or minor injury without ever having seen us before. If you'd like to make us your regular provider afterward, we can set that up at the same visit.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, as the schedule allows. Right now we primarily take walk-ins Monday and Wednesday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Call ahead and we'll tell you the current wait.
How soon can I be seen?
Same-day and next-business-day appointments are usually available for sick visits. Physicals and new patient visits are typically scheduled within the same week.
Do you see children?
We care for adults. For pediatric care, call us and we'll point you toward a provider in the area.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Your insurance card and a photo ID. If you're able, bring a list of your current medications and any records from a previous provider - it helps us pick up where they left off.
Do you take my insurance?
You can see the plans we accept here. If you don't see yours, call us - we can check it in a couple of minutes. We're adding new plans as we go, so sign up for practice updates and we'll email you when the list changes.
What if I don't have insurance?
We offer Savings Memberships starting at $59 a month, built for patients without coverage or with high-deductible plans. See what's included, or call and we'll walk you through which plan fits. You can also sign up for practice updates to hear when we add new plans or membership options.
I was hurt in a car accident. How does that work?
Call or text us and we'll get you evaluated. We handle imaging referrals, treatment plans, and the documentation your attorney and insurer will need.
Do you offer weight loss medication?
Yes. Weight management is part of our primary care practice, and medication is one option we may discuss. Which treatment makes sense depends on your health history, your labs, and what your insurance covers - so we start with a visit and go from there. Call or text us to get scheduled.
